New Options, Values, and Achievements (NOVA): Therapeutic Community and Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Provides quality behavioural health care for children, adolescents and adults whose lives have been adversely affected by family turmoil, substance abuse, and other psychosocial problems that endanger normal growth and healthy functioning. The adult Therapeutic Community program is approximately a four month program in a residential setting for males and females, from 18 years of age, whose lives have become unmanageable due to addiction and/or abuse of drugs and alcohol. Referrals for the TC are made through a variety of sources, including self-referral, family members, hospitals, clergy, law enforcement, physicians, etc. Substance abuse services include: therapeutic community for adults and adolescents; individual and group counselling; structured environment; pregnant women and infants program; intensive outpatient (IOP) for adolescents; agency-based foster care for adolescents; relative/kinship foster care; emergency foster care; outpatient treatment. Mental health services available include: outpatient treatment.
